Kalgoorlie Hall of Fame Museum
Advanced
Visual Design has welcomed into the new age, Netlinx - a network
internet control system.
Due to the size of Western Australia it is not always possible
to offer immediate on site service for our rural customers. An
example of how we overcome the distance service gap was with the
Kalgoorlie Mining Hall of Fame Museum. Advanced Visual Design
was appointed to design an Audio Visual System for the displays
in the new multi million dollar building in the heart of Kalgoorlie.
A major part of the requirement was to offer control over all
interactive displays without a requirement for an Audio Visual
operator on site. The Netlinx control system was the key as it
contained time lines to accurately activate DVD's, lights, Plasma
Screens, and audio as one and all perfectly in sync when triggered
by sensors. The Netlinx via the LAN, monitors the whole Museum's
floor displays providing a secured diagnostic watch on all equipment
and activity. The system also counts the amount of triggered hits
on each display providing valuable information for the curators
of the museum for popularity and positioning of key displays in
the museum.
Advanced Visual Design will automatically be notified if a problem
arises in any key equipment via the Netlinx sending an email to
Perth before the curator may even be aware of it! Advanced Visual
Design can then enter the control system on the secured site to
make programming changes, diagnose problems and possibly fix the
problem on line from the office in Perth to Kalgoorlie in real
time.
Since it's installation the Kalgoorlie Hall of fame has worked
tirelessly with out any glitches.
